The Ford Motor Company stated this week it will build more of its popular Focus and Escape models and boost total vehicle production later this year to help dealers restock depleted showrooms from the high demand of its cars with the Cash For ClunkersProgram backed by the Federal Government. Other companies reported to raisde production include Honda, Toyota and Hyundai. This is great news for the car industry. What will happen when this program ends? This is a great program...but it would have been nice for the American auto makers if they would have made it specific to American Built cars
I see a lot more foreign cars on the road. How does that help the American automakers?
Cash for clunkers is going to hurt the resale parts market. That part wasn't thought through very well.
Konnie-I agree but that would not be fair now
Bob-it will also create a shortage of good used cars for people who need them the most
I have heard that this program will wipe out the parts industry along with good second hand car industry. Increase one to kill to others. Thanks Federal Govt.
Harry, the program seems to be a boost to the new car industry. Looks like there are a lot of loyal Ford owners who traded in their SUV's.
Stack them high and deep for now. At least we are getting the older cars off the road to make it safer on the roads
Michael Ford is making a come back Great for American business
And is it practical to take a perfectly good car and destroy it? Couldn't we make use of these motors for something?
Patrick great points
I really enjoyed your post today. I look forward to learning more from you.
