UNEMPLOYMENT RATE INCREASES NO HOPE FOR PEOPLE

DO NOT WORRY! I GOT YOU COVERED.

The unemployment rate continues to increase each month. The real estate inventory continues to decrease and mortgage rates are still low. However, the loss of jobs does not help the economy because we need people working to spend money to keep the wheel spinning to get out of this economic slump. How are things in your local area?

We're stuck in a very disappointing scenario, with the private-sector economy looking like it's going to be weaker longer than most anyone expected," said John Silvia, chief economist of Wachovia Corp. "In the second half of the year, the federal government is really going to carry the water for the U.S. economy."

Republicans in Congress assailed the weak numbers as evidence that the Obama administration's $800 billion economic stimulus package isn't working. "Americans were promised the 'stimulus' would keep the unemployment rate from going above eight percent," House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) said in a statement. "Where are the jobs?"   http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/07/02/AR2009070200354.html?nav=rss_business

The only way to fix the housing crisis is to stop the unemployment rates from rising. Only then can people hold on to their homes, home prices can begin rising again and debt ratios can go down.

Kim-great insight and I totally agree. We were suppose to have 600,00 new jobs by the end of this summer.

The best thing we can do as Realtors is get out in the field next week and start doing every thing we can to help keep any our clients who  might currently be in financial trouble their homes if possible by helping them work with their lenders if necessary to get a loan modification if needed, if that is not possible start the short sale process if appropriate.

Work with your buyers to help them invest in the available well priced inventory before interest rates go back up as they may do in the near future.

Millions of American home owners need our advise and assistance in these turbulent economic times.

Be sure and start working on your CDPE Certified Distressed Property Designation just as soon as possible to improve your knowledge and skills in that area as millions of home owners now need our guidance advise and assistance. http://www.cdpe.com/

That was a tough blow to see the momentum reverse.  Optimism has picked up dramatically in the past 30 days in Austin, TX.  Could be a bump...could be a sign of a good market.  Time will tell.....
