I have a client who has spent the last twenty years in four major cities due to job relocations. He is married with three children. The husband and wife came to me to talk about relocating with the following criteria:

  • Country-simple life
  • Next to lakes and rivers
  • All four seasons
  • Great jobs to maintain lifestyle
  • People are people and not fake
  • Neighbors are real neighbors
  • Fun activities for the kids when it comes to nature
  • House with land
  • Smaller city where everyone knows each other at the corner store

We had about an hour chat. So, I have listed their criteria above. I need your assistance in recommending a few places on where to advise them to search. Their move will not happen over night. However, this couple would make a great referral to someone who has the right solution for them. Are you the one?

This is where you start listing different places for me. I need your assistance on this one.

Plymouth County, MA - We have lakes, rivers and an ocean. Plus a commuter rail if you want to work in Boston and not commute by car. Give me a call or send me an email, we can discuss in more detail.

Harry:

First I would ask him if he and his family had researched any locations on their own and what were their thoughts concerning his areas of interest or not.  This would give you a better idea too as to where to direct them ...

Harry...

I'm pretty sure FL wouldn't work. The criteria is four seasons not two :)

Lutherville, MD is a great community with great schools, lots of activities for kids.  Lutherville is close to Baltimore, Washington DC and has great transportation up and down the eastern seaboard to reach Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Virginia and such.  The employment opportunities here are great.  I moved to Lutherville 4 years ago and have never regretted it.  I have great neighbors, my son is involved in boy scouts and many school activities.  There is a great rec council for sports and other activities, And, with being close to major cities means there are lots of cultural activities and lots of restaurants and entertainment for families and adults.

Beaverton Michigan  We fit your description!  Everyone knows your name - great place for children to grow up and go to school in a safe environment with sports and activities. Lakes, Rivers and stateland - Oh no, we don't have a lot of jobs here....
