How many events are you invited to on a weekly bais? I am invited to about two or more a week simply because I host a weekly real estate talk show here in Phoenix, AZ. I named the radio show "Real Estate and Beyond." We created a one stop for real estate investors. We provide the support and application for real estate investors.
So, I continual network each and every day. However, I am going to an event next Friday that will have well over 100 people. That is a great deal of people in one location. So, I am going to take full advantage of the opportunity in front of me.
TOP 5 TIPS TO WORK THE ROOM
- Obtain a copy of the lay out in which the event will be held to become familiar with it or simply visit the place during the week to develop a strategy on how to meet the most people. Make sure you have plenty of business cards to pass out. One can never have too many cards.
- Develop and practice your 30 second commercial to present to your new contacts. One must have it down to a science.
- Be positve and put on your game face. You are there to obtain new contacts to increase your existing network. Make sure you wear your name badge in front.
- Practice great manners to stick out from the rest.
- Send a personal hand written thank you card to everyone you met that day. Keep them in your personal database for future communications.
