7 STEPS TO BECOMING ROCK STAR REALTOR (STEP 1)

7 STEPS TO BECOMING ROCK STAR REALTOR

I will be writing a seven part series on becoming a rock star Realtor in today's marketplace. There are over one million Realtors in America. That is a lot of Realtors in one country to me. How is there enough real estate to sell? However, more and more people are entering this field for the following reasons:

  • Create your own destiny
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Great money rewards for working hard
  • Network with many different kinds of people
  • Own your book of business
  • Investing in real estate

Real estate is a contact sport. That means a Realtor has to communicate with his/her clients. One cannot be shy to talk with people. Otherwise, you might want to stop right here. However, I am here to assist you in becoming a Rock Star Realtor. Here are the Seven Stages To Becoming a Rock Star Realtor:

  1. Obtain Real Estate License
  2. Join An Existing Team To Be Mentored
  3. Using The Right Tools
  4. Branding You
  5. Doing The Deals
  6. Create and Maintain a Budget
  7. Rainmaker-Set Up Your Own Team

STEPS 1: OBTAINING REAL ESTATE LICENSE

The first step will be the longest step in becoming a Rock Star Realtor. Yes, we have to be licensed to sell real estate in America. What does that entail? Here is what you will need to obtain your license in the state of Arizona:

  • Complete 90 hour real estate course
  • Pass the school examination
  • All classes completed in six month term
  • Pass the state examination
  • Boot-camp certification
  • Apply for your Arizona license

STEPS TO ACTIVATE YOUR ARIZONA LICENSE

  • Prelicensure Education Certificate received from the school
  • 3 Thompson Prometric Examination Score Reports
  • Original Licensure Questionnaire from The School.
  • Fingerprints on an ADRE approved fingerprint card (Click here for Fingerprinting Schedule)
  • "Bootcamp" completion certificate (Introduction to Contract Writing) (Click here for "Bootcamp" Schedule)
  • To obtain an active license you must also present a hiring form (L.I. 202 Salesperson/Associate Broker change form) provided by your broker. Your broker may obtain this form from the A.D.R.E. website at www.azre.gov
  • ADRE licensing fee is $164.00

Which school do I attend? Personally, I recommend the Arizona School of Real Estate and Businesslocated in downtown Scottsdale, AZ. They offer the following time schedules to do the 90 hour real estate course:

I would recommend on obtaining the following tools to take the 90 hour real estate course:

  • Pens
  • Pencils
  • Ruler
  • HP12C calculator
  • Folders
  • Writing pads
  • Multicolor highlighters
  • Case of water
  • Snacks for class
  • CD to review previous exams

One must put the time in to attending the classes and studying for the school and state exam. I would highly recommend to form a study group during classes. There are always safety in numbers. Plus, everyone can keep each other accountable to all pass together.

CONGRATULATIONS! YOU ARE NOW A FULL TIME REALTOR AFTER COMPLETING ENTIRE STEP 1

Now, you are ready to go to STEP TWO: JOIN A TEAM TO BE MENTORED FOR TWO YEARS
