ROOMMATE NEEDED PLEASE CALL TODAY

I read an article where it discussed that more and more single people who own homes are looking for roommates because they are unable to keep up with the monthly bills. So, they look to rent out a room to a person who will be able to share in the expenses. The unemployment rate continues to rise and sits at ten percent unemployment rate. Another case is that people still have a their jobs. However, they have taken a cut in pay.

Roommate Express, a roommate matching service, said it is doing more business because of the sagging economy. The Arizona company, which charges a $100 nonrefundable fee to pair roommates, tracks requests by ZIP code and said Massachusetts inquiries are up over the past year, although specific numbers were not available. cited Another Sign of Recession: Roomates Needed

Here are the following negatives when taking on a roommate:

  • No more privacy int the house
  • Must take action if roommate does not pay
  • Possible hidden addictions like drug or alcohol
  • Roommates might have a boyfriend/girlfriend
  • Share common facilities throughout the house

Finally, the economy continues to make people survive. It seems that people will take on roommates in order to keep their house. However, it does come with strings attached. There will always be conflict when dealing with other human beings.
