It is that time of year again. I am starting to see garage sale signs all over the Phoenix area. How many people love garage sales? Personally, my wife and I have a garage sale one time per year in order to remove junk from our house. Plus, it shows our kids not to be pack rats. Furthermore, it is a great way to make a few hundred bucks in a few hours depending on what one has for sale.
Our family has a garage once per year. It is amazing that you see the same people year after year. It is a great way to meet people in the community. I pass out my business cards. My next store neighbor is an expert at garage sales. He collects anitques so it is more of a hunt for him.
I just wanted to share my success story from last weekend. My family went for a hike. We made a stop at a garage sale near our house. We purchased a couple items. Then, I started talking with the owners. Yes, I got myself a buyer. They were having a garage sale to rent out the house. They are looking for another primary house. I gave her my card and asked her to listen to my weekly radio show. She was hooked. I love Garage Sales.
