Do you believe people deserve second chances? I was reading an article about Michael Vick who plays quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. We all know the story that he was convicted of a crime involving fighting dogs. He spent time behind bars for his crime. He has paid his dues for his wrongful crime. Currently, the NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell decided to give Michael Vick a second chance IF he plays by the rules. He must speak twice a month against dog fighting to different organizations throughout the country playing down dog fight.
Michael Vick said, ""I didn't care what I was doing. I didn't care about what was happening or if I got caught or exposed. I never thought about the animals. I was only interested in my own amusement. Something so pointless. I can't even comprehend why I did it. There's nothing like being locked down 23 hours a day with nothing to do but think about what I did." cited in article Michael Vick took the time to reflect on his wrong while in jail. He decided that he wanted a second chance to show people that he was truly sorry for his wrong and wants to move on with his life.
I am thinking of the millions of people who are being foreclosed on their homes as I write this article. America was out of control for the last few years when it comes to real estate. People were purchasing homes that they could not afford. Furthermore, investors were looking at short term gains not thinking the real estate market would crash as it did staring in 2006. Now, we have millions of foreclosed homes on the market. Short sales and loan modifications are now part of the real estate game. We have created a whole new market over night.

If he messes up, then he will not be allowed to play football the rest of his life. The same thing goes for people who have lost a house due to foreclosure.
