HOME ORGANIZATION WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM FRIENDS

SPRING CLEANINGYes, it is that time of year-SPRING CLEANING.My wife and I got a jump start this year since we anticipate a busy year for the both of us. We sat down last month to plan out the entire spring cleaning calendar. We want to go through the entire house with the children. Our mission is to streamline our home and get rid of the JUNK. Our goal is to have a garage sale the first week of May of 2010. We have asked our neighbors to assist in the process. They said "NO PROBLEM." We offered our assistance in their home. We have to work together to accomplish each others goals.

 Where did we start? Well, we started with the childrens room. Wow, it is amazing how much junk they acquire throughout the year. We threw away old plastic toys. We asked our children if they want this and that and put things aside for our annual garage sale. We live in a great part of the city where we get tons of traffic for our garage sale. This is a great time to pass out my real estate business card to every person that comes to our garage sale. So, we finished our sons room yesterday. It took us the whole day. We have toys and clothes ready for the garage sale.

Our next big project will be the garage. My in-laws were diagnosed with dementia about three years ago. So, we had to make decisions at that time that catered around them. It seems the waters have calmed down. This is why we have decided to get our own house in order. I believe the garage will be our biggest part of the entire project. However, we have two other neighbors that will assist us next Saturday. We have it planned out on paper. We are going to remove everything from the garage and start from a blank canvas. This will be fun. There will be no real estate that day. I have to service my home clients that day.

Folks, I encourage everyone of you to get your house in order. Throw away items that you do not use on an every day basis. Here is my standard when going through the house--"If I have not used it in six months, then bye." I used this same motto when cleaning up warehouse throughout America with FedEx. Clutter does create chaos.
