The economy continues to spiral out of control with high unemployment rates, employees slashing payroll, Wall Street continues to lose money and real estate market values continue to dip. There are a lot of people just making in paycheck to paycheck. We all have to cut back in order to make it through this crisis in America. So, the Federal Government came out with a new program for struggling students to pay back their student loans.
The Department of Education understands that repaying back the loans have become tough. So, they have developed a way for people to pay back the money in a 25 year window. This program came into place on July 1st of this year. Some even have a chance for their debts to be forgiven. The monthly installment is based up three things:
- Income
- Total Debt
- Family size
If people are married, then they must use their combined incomes in which they may not qualify for the update plans. There are talks of changing the current plan in 2010. We will wait and see. Also, one may have their student loan forgiven if they work for public service for a number of years. More details of this will be coming out at the end of this month.
This is why we developed a system for real estate to pay for college. Imagine that you can pay for your children's college cost via real estate. Then, they will not end of with huge student loans which will take the years to pay back. Financial freedom is given to the next generation.
