ABOVE AVERAGE WHEN IT COMES TO REAL ESTATE BASEBALL STATS
America's past time sport named Baseball will commence the 2012 season next week. I grew up playing baseball as a kid. It was a very inexpensive sport to play. All you need were the following
- Baseball mit
- Baseball bat
- Desire to win
I thrived in baseball as a kid right into being a young man playing semi pro baseball. The dream was to make it to the professionals. Well, that did not happen. However, baseball taught me the following 3 Lessons that I still apply to my life today:
TOP THREE BASEBALL LESSONS APPLY TODAY
- Practice Practice Practice will improve one's game I continue to practice the real estate basics to create, maintain and close business.
- Talk with the bats and less with the mouth I consider myself a man of action. I get the job done right the first time. I witness many professionals do more talking than performing.
- Bat for average and not for the home run all the time It helps the team when more players get on base rather than always trying to hit a home run. I have a high closing ratio when it comes to real estate. Yes, I get the home run at times but always focused on my average close.
I have a real life example that happened this past week. My broker gave me an investor lead that was interested in our property management services. They had three single family homes that were vacant. Great! I thought this was going to be an easy sale. However, I always approach the initial contact with understanding to figure out the investor mind set. I learned very quickly that this was going to take time to close.
Finally, the investor allowed me to manage two out of the three properties that they currently own. The tenant in the third home renewed the lease. So, the investor did not need my services. However, I still received 2 out of the 3 homes. I would say that is a great day for a baseball game ending performance. That is an .667 batting average close for one investor. Finally, she said she will start to refer other investors to me via the phone.
